2015 Honda CivicAs leading vehicles in their class, the 2015 Honda Civic 2015 Honda Civic and 2015 Toyota Corolla have been going head-to-head for years. Both are great cars that offer competitive performance, reliable safety, and convenient tech features. So, which model delivers the most comfortable, efficient, and dependable driving experience? Bosak is here to help.

Trims, Performance, and Fuel Economy

The Toyota Corolla is available in four standard trims: L, LE, LE Eco, and S. On the other side, the Honda Civic offers not only your choice between a sedan or coupe body style, but among five different trims for each: LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L, and Civic Si. Both vehicles include a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine, but the Civic Si comes with a standard 2.4L 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed transmission. This kind of boosted engine option is unavailable with the Toyota.

Overall, both vehicles provide substantial fuel economy on Indiana’s city streets and highways alike, but once is clearly superior. The 2015 Toyota Corolla L offers an EPA-estimated 28 city mpg/37 highway mpg rating while the 2015 Honda Civic LX with CVT delivers a solid 30 city mpg/39 highway mpg,* saving drivers money in the long run.

Safety Features

While both the Civic sedan and Corolla received five-star ratings in government crash tests, the Civic simply delivers more in the way of safety. In its small overlap frontal offset test, it scored “good”, beating the Corolla’s second-lowest rating of “marginal”. Additionally, the Honda Civic offers more tech-savvy safety features for most of its trims, including:

  • Rearview camera (standard for all trims)
  • LaneWatch
  • HondaLink
  • Emergency crash notification

Interior Tech

Convenient tech features are staples in both the Civic and Corolla. The interior of Corolla LE and above includes a 6.1-inch touchscreen outfitted with Toyota’s Entune, allowing drivers to access Facebook, Bing, Yelp, and more on the go. The inclusion of HondaLink adds Apple smartphone amenities to the Civic, as well as voice control, navigation, and social networking extras. Upper trims provide greater ease-of-access with a 7-inch touchscreen.
