What’s New for the 2018 Honda Accord?

Americans continue to love midsize cars, and none is more beloved than the Honda Accord. The all-new 10th generation 2018 Accord will debut with advanced styling and a fun-to- drive personality. All new bodywork is complemented by two new engines, a 192 horsepower, 192 lb-ft of torque 1.5-liter direct-injected DOHC turbo paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or continuously variable automatic transmission, and a 252 horsepower, 273 lb-ft 2.0-liter direct-injected DOHC turbo mated to an innovative 10-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual. Both engines employ quick-spooling turbos and variable valve-timing. An all new Accord Hybrid will also appear, featuring the next generation of two-motor technology that doesn’t require a conventional automatic transmission.

Innovations abound in the 2018 Honda Accord, including Normal and Sports setting, variable-ratio, dual-pinion electric power steering, available adaptive dampers, a weight savings of up to 176 pounds due to the generous use of advanced steels, higher torsional and bending stiffness, and a quieter cabin. The interior has moved upscale, with premium soft-touch materials, a contoured steering wheel, and new front seats with available 12-way power and cooling/heating. Trunk capacity increases by 0.9 cubic feet.
