The 2015 Honda CR-V is Motor Trend’s Sport/Utility of the Year
We’ve been talking about the 2015 Honda CR-V for a little while now—we’re big fans of the updates Honda has made to the crossover for the current model year, and it looks like we’re not alone. Motor Trend just named the CR-V their Sport/Utility of the Year for 2015. What is it that makes this vehicle even more impressive than lastyear’s model? Let’s see what made Motor Trend list it above competing models like the BMW X5, Jeep Cherokee, Lincoln MKC, Nissan Rogue, and Toyota Highlander.
Straight from Motor Trend
Before we dive into the features and changes to the 2015 CR-V, we thought it would be a good idea to see just what Motor Trend had to say about the vehicle. Straight from Ed Loh, editor-in-chief of Motor Trend:
“[It] impressed our judges with its extensive list of delightful design and thoughtful engineering improvements … [It is] efficient, practical, and a joy to drive; the 2015 Honda CR-V does virtually everything well.”
Updates for 2015
We think that it’s not a coincidence that the CR-V received this prestigious award after Honda made some significant updates to the vehicle. In addition to the brand new Touring trim level that adds on high-tech Honda Sensing safety features, Honda updated their trusty engine:
- The 2015 Honda CR-V 2WD models now earn an EPA-estimated 34 highway mpg and 27 city mpg.*
- The upgraded engine keeps its 185 hp and brings its torque up to 181 lb-ft.
Powerful and fuel-efficient, the CR-V has no trouble finding room for the whole family, and it can even tow up to 1,500 pounds in a pinch. Its versatility has made it one of the most competitive crossovers on the road, and we are proud to see a publication like Motor Trend recognize this fact.
Test Drive a CR-V
The 2015 Honda CR-V could take home all of the SUV of the Year awards from every magazine, and we would still insist that you see it for yourself before deciding to make one yours. Contact Bosak Honda Highland to schedule a test drive of the new CR-V; we think you’ll agree that it’s quite deserving of its new award.
